Daisy Lesson #1 for Maya : The Best Sleeping Position

They even have their heads turned the same way! We're glad to see Daisy taking her big sister responsibilities so seriously. But we're dreading the lesson where she teaches Maya to demand treats.

We're Not Slacking Off...

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but Ken's family is in town, so we've been a little busy. Here's a quick Maya picture to hold you over. We promise to post more this weekend.

NFL Kickoff - Ken's Favorite Day of the Year

Today was the day Ken has been waiting for for 7 months - NFL Kickoff day, the Redskins v. the Giants. He and Maya got all decked out....but unfortunately his team's new head coach still needs to learn a few things. As you can tell by the second picture, Maya "Daddy's Little Redskin Princess" was unhappy with the team's performance and is asking about the possibility of changing her team loyalty to the Seahawks or the Bears. But, since she has yet to see "Sexy" Rex Grossman or Kyle"I look like a `70's porn star" Orton play, she doesn't realize that the Bears aren't really a better option. She did, however, learn a few four-letter words during the course of the game.
Rachel is grateful that Ken has not yet declared Maya "Bad Luck" to the Redskins and banned her for the rest of the season....although she's not sure we'll be seeing that Redskins Dad t-shirt on game day anymore.
Despite her team's dismal performance this evening, we have been able to brainwash her appropriately in at least one arena....she cried through John McCain's acceptance speech, pausing only to smile and wave her arms for the protesters being arrested and removed from the convention.

Labor Day Update

Nap time, is it nap time????

Who knew dog's vet appointments were like people's doctor's appointments....Daisy was told to lose 5 lbs! And she needs a dental cleaning. And next year, she's considered a "senior dog." Poor Daisy, she was so depressed, she needed a new couch to cheer her up!

Other than that, the Rogers family had a rather uneventful weekend. Maya went on a few more outings....she is now acquainted with Costco, Best Buy, and the Base Commissary. She really likes the car, which is great for us since we're heading to Kirkland next weekend for a baby shower (an hour+ drive).
